Abby Leon, Paradigm Gallery Director
When you visit the Paradigm Gallery, you’ll find original artwork from dozens of artists in a wide variety of media. Something unique about our featured artist today is that she creates a handmade medium for other artists to use. Artist Beth Wright has dedicated her creative energy to developing a specialty watercolor collection, Rainbow Alchemy, for all to enjoy. It has become her passion to experiment with different pigments from around the world, gathering soil and plant materials. This produces the most saturated and vivid colors that dilute beautifully to transparent hues. Through her handcrafted paints, Beth strives to equip artists with a handcrafted material that can bring their work to life through depth and vibrancy. Most importantly, her aim is to fuel inspiration by creating a dialogue between the artist and the canvas!
Read what Beth has to say about Rainbow Alchemy:

Every paint mixture I create is born from a deep reverence for color, texture, and the intimate connection between artist and material. Rainbow Alchemy paints are not mass-produced—they are carefully mulled by hand in small batches, with an emphasis on unique separation effects, subtle shimmer, and the kind of fluid movement that invites spontaneous discovery.
These artisanal paints are made with intention. They whisper across the paper, bloom in water, and offer surprises that ignite imagination. Whether it’s the way a peach-toned wash divides into rose and gold, or how a gentle granulation echoes the earth’s texture, each hue holds a conversation waiting to unfold.

Artists who use my paints often tell me their work feels more alive—that the materials lead them into deeper creative flow. I believe that handmade Rainbow Alchemy paints carry a spirit of care and curiosity that mass-market supplies simply can’t replicate. When you paint with them, you’re not just applying color. You’re tapping into a story—of earth and alchemy, of experimentation and wonder.
I create these paints to support your vision, to elevate your process, and to infuse your work with character that’s as distinctive as your own artistic voice. Let them surprise you. Let them sing on your paper.

In my studio, every pigment is sourced with care. I select minerals, botanicals, and other natural elements, each contributing its unique character to the palette. The process is both an art and a science- each batch of paint is a delicate balance of tradition and exploration, where the physical properties of the pigments are harmonized with the emotional resonance they evoke.
