Art Term Tuesday: Appliqué

Art Term Tuesday: Kinetic Sculpture

A stainless steel and stone sculpture, a rock base and stainless top. The shapes created by stainless steel are hollow circles and and organic shapes with pointed ends. The shapes vary in size and width. The sculpture sways the individual shapes from left to right, causing them to overlap each other.

Art Term Tuesday: Gauffrage

Art Term Tuesday: Lamination

A glass sculpture with varying shapes and sized pieces of glass stacked on top of each other. From bottom to top it is made of a silver disk, glass orb, a slanted square twice the width of the sphere, a smaller square holding up the longest piece of glass that is slanted at the opposite 45 degree angle. The very top holds two chunks of glass and a smaller sphere. The entire work feels like it's balancing itself in a way similar to a jenga tower. The front of the work shows a flat, yellow, hollowed out circle.

Art Term Tuesday: Soda-Lime Glass

Art Term Tuesday: Ephemeral Art and Chalk Walk 25

Art Term Tuesday: Personification

A small lime green and sun yellow lidded clay vessel. The surface has flecks of deeper greens and lighter yellows dotted evenly. Small coils of clay are positioned like wrists resting on the vessel's "hips". The lid of the vessel is domed with a slight point at the top.
