Saturday Studio: Playing with Scale

A room with a 1960's blue car to the right, and oversized fast food throughout. In the foreground is a red bin full of giant popped corn. In the background are red booths and tables. To the left are giant, crumpled soda cans.

This month in the Saturday Studio we're looking to the Hot off the Grill exhibit by John Miller! The enormous pieces of glass art in this exhibit gives us a starting point for our collage project. Follow along to make your own!

Now on View: Hung Liu in Echoes of Home

Close up of the child in the upper corner from the original image. This lithograph shows bold strokes and the motion of the artist's mark making. This close up shows details of the mattress edges and suggested lines of thread. The child has their chin resting in their hands--one hand open, reaching their fingertips to their temple, the other hand with fingers folded toward their palm. Their dark, short hair is blowing in the wind.

What is home to you? Our Teen Council has curated an exhibit based around this question. Today, we're exploring one artist's work, Route 66, by Hung Liu, now on view in "Echoes of Home", through July 27th.
