The Fort Wayne Museum of Art has heavily invested in the Scholastic Art and Writing Program with the hopes of making a difference in the lives of students and families within our region. Back in 2002-2003, I heard whispers of this incredibly talented kid from Angola, Indiana and his huge collection of sneakers. Over 10 years later, I heard whispers of this same student, Brett Golliff, and how he designed shoes and this year the interior of some car. I tracked down his contact information from his recently retired Angola High School, Art Teacher Jeanette Meridew and he agreed to come speak at our 2014 Scholastic Award Ceremony to share with you some of his experiences. His presentation will start with his 1st Scholastic Award as a freshman in High School to his work on …that car ….2014 Detroit Auto Show Car of the Year, the Corvette Z06. We are incredibly grateful to Brett for giving back and inspiring another generation of Artists and Writers, and inspiring others that hate the word “No”.
